Review of I Think We're Alone Now (2018) by Jessica H — 05 Oct 2018
I love the post apocalyptic genre but it so often isn't done well. This movie was beautiful and every time it looked like it might disappoint by becoming another typical movie delivering the basic look-at-how-love-changes-us message it adds nuance and depth that make heartbreakingly beautiful and complex.
I was pleasantly surprised that it was a therapeutic story of humanity that addresses the complexity of what a person needs to truly live and not just survive. The themes were heavy handed but I think I that making some points so very obvious helped it deliver a more meaningful story.
