Review of I Love You, I Love You Not (1996) by Danielle U — 06 Jan 2012
Not Claire Danesâ(TM) or Jude Lawâ(TM)s best work, thatâ(TM)s for sure. This film attempts to cover the concepts of first love, uncertainty of oneâ(TM)s self, and the past to present day effects of the Holocaust in just an hour and a half long film.
Not a wise endeavor, this film shouldnâ(TM)t have tried to cover so many topics at once because it ultimately felt lacking in all three categories. And the emotions it was trying to express seemed stunted and the transitions of ideas choppyâ¦plus the acting was rather lackluster too (maybe the actors already sensed that the film wasnâ(TM)t very good and didnâ(TM)t bother trying).
I wouldnâ(TM)t recommend this one.
