Review of I Am Love (2010) by Zee T — 06 Oct 2010
A TREMENDOUS film, an invigoration that sends you spinning and curious simultaneously. Never over-explaining nor undermining itself - who thought why, felt when, sought what... in the same breath if you had missed why-when-what you could only guess the grating consequence.
A pitch-perfect score that is as dizzying as falling in love for the first time, except this is no childhood romance but an awakening of senses. Tender, thunderous, naive, virginal, rapturous. The camera swings, thinks, caresses, never once allowing you to gasp; one swing and you are majestically wounded, spring back and you are anonymously close.
Tilda Swinton is the blind lead, yet never this blind have we been led so well. Genio assoluto, grazie.
