Review of I Am a Sex Addict (2006) by Kayvon P — 12 Apr 2009

"Weird but successful" pretty much sums up this film I randomly came across on the Starz Comedy channel. Chronicles the director and main actor's (Caveh Zahedi) true story bout with being a sex addict and he actually weaves in actual footage of his old wives and girlfriends.

He had an addiction to prostitutes and would feel so bad (but couldn't break his addiction) that he'd confess all the time to his wives...etc. Caveh also talks to the camera throughout the movie while doing the voice over and the film overall is very uniquely created.

The film took 15 years to make because Caveh didn't have enough funding but I thought it was a success with a powerful ending: he talks about how he beat his addiction and the final scene is actual footage from the marriage to his current wife and he's balling as she walks down the aisle.
