Review of Hyena Road (2015) by Ian G — 26 Oct 2016
Hyena Road is another wartime or at least military related film to his filmography of late, centering around a base camp in Afghanistan assigned with building infrastructure namely Hyena Road in an attempt to help supply the area but also navigate against insurgents and the likes.
There are some decent cinematograpghy in places, and most of the actors are decent with what they are given, but seems more like it is a showcase of politicing moments between Gross's character and various politically placed individuals, and the fraternizing between several base members, and a few military equipment porn shots.
Weirdly feels like an American film that a Canadian co pro. Indifferent.
