Review of Hustler White (1996) by F B — 09 May 2015
Clumsy, amateurish and perverse. This twisted ode to old hollywood, sexual desire, kink and porn is a time capsule moment of it's time for a wide number of reasons. Not for all tastes, but this is undistilled bit of Queer Independent Film is of import.
As Tony Ward said at the time of the film's release: "The only difference between porn and art is the lighting." --- and one must consider this while viewing Bruce LaBruce's big cinematic moment.
