Review of Hunting Emma (2017) by Jack%20 D — 04 Jun 2018
Hunting Emma is the story of an unlikely heroine coming into her own as she finds herself chased by a group of savage South African cartel members through an uncaring smoldering desert. This film is both an action thriller and a survival film.
The ever-building tension kept me glued to the screen and the gritty violence made all the anticipation well worth it. The filmmakers created a viscerally gritty world and pull no punches. Leandie du Randt perfectly portrays Emma's transition from an inconspicuous girl to a bad-ass action heroine.
The antagonists are despicable, the tension is palpable, and the violence is abrasive; the perfect concoction for an action thriller.
