Simple but reasonably enjoyable. Some of the acting is noticeably poor, even with the distraction of reading subtitles. Sometimes the stereotypically Japanese parts of the movie were cringe-worthy, but others were endearing.
Overall not too bad, but I wouldn't be rushing out to see it.
