Review of Howl (2010) by Scott S — 18 Jan 2011
A stylish film about the life of a 20th century American poet, Allen Ginsberg. It depicts his struggle with homosexuality and the 1957 obscenity trial associated with Howl, his infamous poem. Innovative and experimental with biopic-animation-documentary elements.
Flawed and not an easy watch, but it allows audience to understand Ginsberg and Howl's literary merit. James Franco's amazing as always.
