Review of House of 9 (2005) by Jen B — 27 Jul 2011
The majority of reviews I read prior to watching this compared the movie to Saw and Cube however both of those movies required overcoming obstacles and booby traps to survive. If the movie were to be compared to any existing film The House on Haunted Hill would be the closest.
House of 9 follows nine seemingly random people who are kidnapped and locked in a house together with the sole intent of only one "survivor" who will win 5 million dollars. The survivor, of course, being the one who systematically kills off the other eight.
This movie was very good and I regret not having seen it earlier due to previous reviews and comparisons. It speaks more on human nature and will keep you guessing as to what will happen next.
