Review of Horns (2013) by Michael M — 06 Jun 2015
One of the most emotionally potent movies I've seen in recent memory, what starts as a dark comedy quickly descends into a drama so dark that the word dark fails to describe it. There are revelations in the story that are downright heartbreaking, and moments of violence (both real and fantastical) that are unrelentingly graphic and grim (told you we'd come back to it!).
It also displays one of the sexiest, most romantic, emotionally charged displays of on-screen chemistry I've ever seen, made all the more tragic knowing the doomed fate of one member 5 seconds into the film.
Daniel Radcliffe gives a career defining performance as well. Just saying, Harry Potter's grown up.
