Pretty decent holiday comedy. the story's not very cohesive and some of the dialogue's a bit heavy on the schmaltz, but the cast is entertaining, particularly Mitchum. nothing especially original, and the charm comes more from idealist fantasies than reality, but it's still an ok film.
