Review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) by Aaron L — 24 May 2008
Even though I find Michael Rooker's performance highly engaging, the other part of me is saying, "So what's the point, after all of the depravity and sadistic violence?".
...or maybe that's the primary reason why so many film snobs--uh, I mean critics, praised it so much!
I can only wish (John) McNaughton could have concentrated more on the titular character's psychological, naturalistic X factor, to sort of further develop a multi-layered profile behind Henry's sick spree.
