Review of Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012) by Sharon A — 04 Nov 2013
Not to bad a film, I had never heard of Gellhorn before, but after this, I would class her as a woman I admire. I am not sure that Kidman does the woman justice, but she does a good job.
I found the scene where Gellhorn and Hemmingway first made love a bit silly (because when your hotel is being bombed and falling down, naturally your first thought is to start having sex...right??) Daft.
Looking at the two of them, you would think they would have suited each other very well, but I guess Hemmingway just did not like having a woman so much like him. It must have been a great couple of years while it lasted, and I agree with the woman, she should not be a footnote to his history.
