Review of Heavy Metal in Baghdad (2007) by Mike M — 29 Aug 2008
A tour movie with a difference, in that the tour bus is slowly being driven into exile... There's a noticeable loss of either shape or narrative tension when the band decamps to Syria in the final reel, but prior to that, Moretti and Alvi's film delivers frontline reportage in a unusual variety of modes: entertaining, revealing, saddening and finally angered.
And it really does rock. When it's allowed to.
