Review of Heartless (2010) by David J — 16 Jan 2011
Superb British psychological thriller/horror starring the ever impressive Jim Sturgess as a young photographer who has spent most of his life trying to hide the heart shaped birthmark that scars his face.
After a spate of brutal murders on the streets of London by hoodies wearing demon masks only Jamie (Sturgess) knows the truth - that those arent masks and are in fact demons. It ticks along at a nice pace with some genuinely shocking and scary moments as the plot unfolds as our hero ends up making a pact with the Devil himself to rid him of the birthmark that has ruined his life - of course theres a hefty price to pay.
Dont be put off by anyone saying the ending is shite, it isnt it is perfect and if you follow the movie closely you will know why. One of the best British horrors of our time.
