He Who Gets Slapped is probably the best Lon Chaney film. He's mostly famous for his big makeup roles in Hunchback of Notre Dame and Phantom of the Opera, that sometimes people forget that he was an amazing facial actor.
As 'He', there is only a layer of paint covering Chaney's face, and he gives an aching and devastating performance.
