Review of Hands of a Stranger (1962) by Richard D — 05 Jul 2018
A concert pianist is in a car crash that destroys his hands. A surgeon performs an experimental procedure to graft the hands of a recently deceased man in their place. The pianist is driven slowly mad by the obsession that his new hands have a mind of their own.
This is a dime store unacknowledged remake of "The Hands of Orlac", which had already been remade twice before this one. This version has the typical bad film feature where all the characters seem to inhabit this wild emotional roller coaster that causes them to veer from one extreme to another all in the same scene.
That would make this one an amusing watch if it just weren't so damn slow. It's pretty safe to skip this version.
