Review of Gypo (2005) by Linda S — 09 Nov 2007
One can be distracted by the shaky camera movement at first but that part is quickly forgotten as soon as you hear the characters speak. the acting, completely stunning, will engross you as the actors embody their characters so well, you are convinced you are some omniscient witness to the story.
filmed in the dogme style, this "three point perspective", between a haggard mother, her indifferent/unloving/bigoted husband, and a young female refugee all striving to escape the stagnance and suffocation of their lives in search of something better, should be well lauded.
