Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Brendan N — 16 Aug 2017

I have always enjoyed James Gunns films but this took the concept of a comic book and went a different direction. The film is backed with incredible actors and giant heart, you can tell the heroes have been developed with care and it's a shame the villain wasn't allowed to flourish like the other characters.

Marvel continue to build films around their universe but this is the very first film that wasn't tradition and broke traditional storytelling. The film has a large scope and unlimited possibilities that take us away from the comic book origin stories.

I float between 4.5 to 5 with this film but I still look at it like a James Gunn film, this has a budget but the core sense of fun, music and oddball characters are all here. I watched this on the big screen and would love to see this again at some stage.
