Man it's so wonderful to finally watch an awesome horror movie after suffering through so many bad ones. The problem with scary flicks is that you don't know whether they're good unless you watch them, but Grave Encounters freaking delivered.
The makers of this film understand how to properly build up the fear before everything goes nuts, and when it goes nuts, they used every weapon in their arsenal. The sounds made by the ghosts/dark beasts were just amazing; the first time you hear one of them roaring through the asylum you know you're watching something special.
I like to see the creature if it exists, and was pleased by the visuals. So in short, let's put it this way... Could I see myself in a situation like this being terrified out of my mind? Oh yeah.
