Review of Grabbers (2012) by Dustin I — 08 Nov 2013
This is a really fun twist to the rising b movie horror/comedies that are growing more popular. It pays homage to some of the classics, briefly playing night of the living dead on a tv, and the lock in suggests a tribute to Shaun of the dead.
It is essentially a lighter, more playful Irish indie version of slither. It also has surprisingly great special effects with the squid monster from space. The characters are exaggerated and perfectly entertaining in the b movie genre.
This movie is just fun all the through and I found myself constantly laughing aloud, at least when I could understand the thick Irish accents. Take it for what it is, sit back and laugh your way through it.
