Review of Good Time (2017) by K H — 04 Feb 2018
Good Time is a mesmerizing, relentless, gritty, grimy, subversively provocative, superbly-acted, gut-punch of a film. This movie managed to burrow its way into my head, It definitely deserves multiple viewings.
The soundtrack by OPN is insane, and the closing scenes with Iggy Pop's spoken-word narration, while the credits roll over Nik left me completely in my feelings. Damn. Robert Pattinson plays the whole entire feck outta this role.
Can not take your eyes off of him. Entire cast gives captivating performances (Buddy Duress is a star.) As dark as the movie gets, it also unexpectedly funny. Probably my favorite film of the year. Pattinson once again (see The Rover, The Lost City of Z) delivers A+ performance.
Should have gotten more awards love.
