The ideas for horror remain interesting and remind one of the Poltergeist and Evil Dead 2, but everything else remains so terrible that it brings the entire movie down. The visual ideas behind many of the horror scenes are extremely intriguing and original.
The last 15-20 minutes are actually quite great. Again, it is the visual ideas and ways to create terror that make it all interesting. And who they choose to survive is so random that it is quite satisfying.
