Review of Get the Gringo (2012) by Mark D — 16 May 2012
No further claims - except for the fun with a good dose of adrenaline - "Get To Gringo", starring renegade Mel Gibson , can take advantage of a good nutty story about a somewhat American gangster arrested in Mexico that ends in a penitentiary it works actually as a subdistrict where the boss, are the detainees themselves.
It is interesting to follow the plans outlandish orchestrated by "gringo" to survive in a so unfriendly territory , mainly because a large part of the production reigns a content almost playfully, where verisimilitude and sense are discarded in the name of pure and simple entertainment.
Although sometimes hit the exaggeration of blood, and the construction of a nearly indestructible anti-hero - much to the taste of action cinema widely practiced in the 80's - production can get away from the common place, with a touch of humor, and great finds, as the performance full of charisma and naturalness boy's Kevin Hernandez, who steals the show at any time, as the improbable partner of Gibson in his newest adventure.
