Review of Get Out (2017) by David S — 16 Dec 2017
Pretty much the worst nightmare of am African man meeting a Caucasian girl's parents. Many of the lines felt real, coz I've heard them in real life too, and the interaction were pretty much real for me, The movie was fun and intriguing at times, at other creepy and slightly scary.
As it was more a horror thriller than a social commentary about racism, it was successful on both levels. The situation is the stuff of nightmares, the interactions were the day to day of a black man.
Even if people are not racist, they tend act the way it's shown. The movie balances well the story it wants to tell with the social commentary resulting in a great movie!
