Review of Gerry (2002) by Michael M — 20 Dec 2003
Gerry, which is partly based on a true event, is one of my favorite films that was released in theatres in 2003. The cinematography and direction is amazing. The two main characters, played by Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, are usually shot from a distant while they meander and get lost in the desert.
There are many scenes where nothing appears to be happening other than the two friends walking across the terrain. With very little dialogue and action, Gerry may turn off some (or many) viewers.
If you can understand the purpose of the film and you don't have A.D.D., Gerry could be one journey you won't forget.
