Review of George Carlin: It's Bad for Ya! (2008) by Robert O — 30 Jan 2011
Carlin's analysis of today's parents, the self-esteem movement, and the special child is so right on. Not only does he nail it, he provides humor with it.
This is a much better tack than his political stuff. What I wonder though is that he addresses the families of the upper-middle class. It would have been great to have heard his take on the families from poor backgrounds. He always seemed to champion them.
But Carlin drifted into politics and religion. That he died a few months after this was recorded, I wonder . . . is he looking up at us smiling? ;).
