After a long line of campy and silly fun with the original gamera films its good to sit back and relax with a more serious continuation of the saga. this film is darker, more well scripted, and more compelling than any other gamera movie at the time.
its special effects are more dated than the later entries but gamera guardian of the universe is still a fantastic start to an epic trilogy.
