Review of Frayed (2007) by Bobby L — 17 Oct 2009
Frayed is one of those movies that hinges on a twist. The problem is that most everyone will figure this twist out almost immediately. This leaves the viewer sitting back watching the movie go through the motions. You just want them to get on with it and figure it out and be done with it but it drags on and on. It doesn't help that the movie is about 30 minutes longer than needed.
It's a shame the twist is handled so clumsily because there are some good things going on. It has a couple of well done kill scenes. One bludgeoning is particularly well done and ranks up there with the best I've seen. The acting and general look of the movie is better handled than a lot of similar low budget slashers.
