Review of Flannel Pajamas (2006) by Scarlett M — 15 Aug 2008
Reviewing this during my second viewing of a poignant, truthful film. There are many things I like about this film. I like that its not your typical boy meets girl, fall in love, whirlwind romance. The language of this film is not sugarcoated either. Some of my favorite scenes are those that take place in the bedroom because of the special conversations the couple have.
Stuart (Justin Kirk) often comes off as a complete prick. He is so frank and crass with what he says to Nicole (Julianne Nicholson) but its only because he truly loves her and that is the only way to get it through to her. She often feels undeserving of his love and money. In this great scene at her apartment, he explains to her that 'giving to those he loves gives him the greatest pleasure'. He goes on to say that "Time is irreplaceable but you can always make more money".
Great film :).
