Review of Fear of Fear (1975) by Benjamin H — 28 May 2008
Fassbinder picks up the shattered hulk of Douglas Sirk and breathes new life and drop dead gorgeous visuals into one of the most beautiful, bitter, and affecting pieces of New German Cinema. The cafe scene is breathtaking, maybe some of the best images laid down on celluloid.
If it wasn't such in inspiration to RWF you'd take your copy of "All That Heaven Allows" and chuck in the fire.
