Review of Fastball (2016) by Tim M — 10 Jul 2016
Fastball is a fascinating look at something so simple you'd hardly think is deserved a 10 minute Outside the Lines segment, let alone nearly and hour and a half. However Jonathan Hock takes a seemingly simple concept and covers it with precision and care.
If you've ever been on a baseball field or are just a fan of the nuance of the sport Fastball is a can't miss piece. I learned so much and was thoroughly entertained. Hock uses the perspective of some of baseball's best fastball pitchers from the modern day and decades ago, to go along with some of the best fastball umpires.
He even includes an interview with the best umpire who ever lived, and some journalists. It's a combination that works and will keep you glued to the screen.
