A sensual and exotic tale of Farinelli--the most infamous of castrati. He was the quasi-musical-god who gave these artists their mystical connotation and sexual intrigue. This movie is a treat not to be taken lightly.

The idea of male castration in preservation of a boyâ??s soprano voice, and the intensity of the act, adds an exotic layer of emotional complexity to the movie, making it sexier along with all the frills and ostentation of 18th century Italian and French high art and music.
