Review of Fargo (1996) by Liam B — 27 Oct 2012
Fargo is one of the coen brothers' greatest films. It's a dark, gritty, and profound in it's meditation on the mechanics of lying and greed. The performances are spectacular especially from France's mcdormand who won an award for her career defining performance.
This is a definitive coen brothers film with their trademark black humor, indiscriminate violence, and stunning visuals which make this film not only a brilliant meditation on greed but also an incredibly entertaining story that serves as a modern noir masterpiece.
