Review of Fallen (2016) by Dann M — 17 Sep 2018
A Twilight wannabe, Fallen is a generic tween fantasy thriller that's dreadfully boring. The story follows a troubled teen named Lucinda Price who's sent to a special boarding school where she meets a brooding young man that she instantly falls for, and she begins to believe that they've met before.
..perhaps in a previous life. Addison Timlin does alright as the lead, but really isn't given much to work with. The writing is incredibly bad, telegraphing the whole plot from the jump and delivering incredibly clichéd dialog.
Still, the film has an interesting artistic look and the score does a good job at setting a dramatic tone. While Fallen shows some potential as a series, this first installment plays as a poorly made Twilight rip-off.
