Del Toro was amazing, and overall the movie was great. You really felt the danger Nick was in, the situation and how stressful the scenario would have been. On the other hand Nick didn't really fit in, the idea that Canadians would be backpacking and living as surf bums at that time of Columbias history seems unbelievable, as well as his relationship with Pablo's niece.

If Nicks was someone a little more appropriate than it all would have fit together better.
