Review of Elektra Luxx (2011) by John M — 28 Jun 2011
Wah wah, life is hard. that's the done-to-death idea behind this sequel to Women In Trouble. this wordy movie is full of dialogue (which is why so many talented actors are game to be in this) but it says virtually nothing, and does so ineptly.
the only person I can imagine enjoying this movie is the director. its cheap looking and has the photography quality of a skinemax flick. all problems aside, once again Adriane Palicki's story is the most interesting and she really shines in her role.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt gets upgraded from after-credit cameo in the first film to full-blown character but he's terrible and the part is terrible. this movie feels like a 12-year old tried to write an adult drama based on what he thinks its like to be a grown up.
