Review of Election (1999) by Daniel H — 11 Aug 2008
Alexander Payne's best picture up to now. The satire about the american politics in a high-school is incredibly funny and ironic thanks to the brilliant screenplay. Reese and Broderick are great too as the annoying teenager candidate and the laughable teacher.
Chris Klein delivers a good performance in a character made for him. Election topped my 99 best movies list, a witty and clever proof of Payne's talent. Of many, many political satires, this one is the strongest and most sarcastic in years.
A must-see? Obviously!!
