Review of Edge of Tomorrow (2014) by Mark R — 09 Aug 2015

A spectacularly subversive tent-pole action movie with some serious attempts to play with it's central premise in interesting ways. Tom Cruise delivers a solid and reliable performance, as he always does by giving his character the same level of attention he does with every role.

Emily Blunt is the stand-out star of this piece though and it says something that an actor of the level of Cruise allows her to shine so much in what is his film. This was probably the best science fiction action film I've seen since Looper which in my mind is high-praise.
