Review of Eden Log (2007) by Shawn-Ray M — 07 Aug 2009
This movie lends itself to video games more than film. It's amazing when you see the production value of the movie to hear how low budget it actually is. The atmosphere of Eden Log is dark, oppressive, and moody.
There's a lot of subtext to the story, which some could probably see as lacking as it doesn't go into too much depth with its characters, however, you didn't really need to here. I feel the movie accomplish exactly what it sets out to do.
My only real complaint with the movie is the first 5 minutes which quite literally anger me. It was beyond obnoxious and annoying and it just permeated the film through out for me. That said... the rest of the movie was pretty enjoyable and it was very different than the norm.
That's usually okay with me.
