Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Elena C — 03 Jan 2012
If you have ever been frightened by what is happening to our youth, as stories of gang violence and swarming fills our tv channels , Eden Lake may not be the film for you.
James Walkins directorial debut , is a well crafted , edge of your seat thriller about a young couple in peril as an encounter with a group of teens , spirals out of control.
We know that most teens are not the mindless sadistic monsters that films of this type tend to portray them as, but Eden Lake does very well in preying upon our paranoia with its great sense of claustrophobia and better than average acting by the likes of Micheal Fassbinder. You may think twice about venturing into a park if you happen upon a group of teens.
The film does have extreme violence and torture, but not of a sexual nature in case that is not your cup of tea.
