Review of Dumbo (1941) by Jack V — 19 Feb 2011
Usually, when I'm a bit sad, I often find myself watching a Disney movie...not a very wise move, considering that they have MANY sad moments (Death of Old Yeller/Mufasa/Bambi's mom). Dumbo is a different type of sadness.
It reflects social discrimination due to unique differences (in this case, large ears). However, there are many cheerful moments and song (my favorite being Casey Jr.). But the weirdest part about this film.
..aside from an elephant with big ears who flies, is the infamous Pink Elephant seen, in which Dumbo gets drunk......I did NOT expect writing this down today. But lame jokes aside, I highly recommend this film for fans of traditional Disney lovers.
..and people who want to see clips of- "PINK ELEPHANTS ON PARADE!".
