I am truly shocked that people didnt love this movie more. Yes the basic premise is quite typical but the narative turns are quite inventive, the story becomes strong because of what it makes of itself.
The scares are somehow similar to what we are used to but at the same time different, like dread takes a hold more than simple horror. By the time I reached the conclusion I was 200% invested and fascinated by how it managed to make the old so new.
Oh and the acting by the 2 leads is gold.
