Review of Dogtooth (2009) by Eric W — 14 Feb 2011
This film leaves me speechless. It is at once mezmerizing, and engaging as it is repulsive and truly funny in a number of scenes, while others leave the viewer aghast. This is nothing like you have ever seen before, and as others have said, it is a testament to a totalitarium regime, which in this case is a family unit, where the two girls and a boy, all post adolescent are taught that black is white and white is black.
After a point, those kids, at least the oldest senses something is not quite as it should be and loses whats left of her tormented mind. Extremely well filmed and acted, be aware that after watching this film, you will pause to wonder what just happened to you.
