Review of Doghouse (2009) by Jason P — 21 May 2011
Doghouse was very surprising in many ways. I didn't expect to have such a serious side to it. And I didn't expect that serious side to be so engaging, and almost touching in a way. It also wasn't as stupid and goofy as I thought it would be.
Sure it's nothing original, but its really funny with a very distinct sense of humor and it tells the story well, whether or not that story is original. Doghouse is just a good time from start to end, with great characters, hilarious moments, and fairly clever writing.
Although the writing isn't as sharp as it could've been, its still a thoroughly enjoyable story and a well-done film. It may even be near the same level as Shaun of the Dead, but at the same time, its miles away.
