Review of Dog Pound (2010) by Eric H — 05 Nov 2013
Yes, like all jail incarceration movies, this one has some of the same qualities, such as taking place in a juvenile detention center and like the 1983 version of Bad Boys with Sean Penn including inner gang turmoil, bonding of gang members, violent rape and beatings under unsafe conditions, us against the mentality, but this is 2010, not 1983.
Even though it is over 20 years later, and two generation apart, this movie still has the edge of your seat punch to rate it a 6, especially with handicaps of having a small budget and using all unknown actors.
I recommend it for those viewers that are fascinated by the reality of life and social dynamics within a dysfunctional corrupted system, ( which this theme can be applied to any of our present day systems }.
