Review of Dog Days (2018) by John W — 19 Aug 2018
Too bad this movie is getting such slight attention here and among reviewers. The audience and our party of three thought it was surprisingly enjoyable and moving. There are more lessons here into how our diverse populace might get along better than in most of the more ballyhooed films about family, race and personal relationships.
The directing, editing and, especially in the case of the undersung Nina Dobrev, acting are, like the film itself, downright refreshing. And that's something our country needs a lot more of. Not refreshment but "refreshingness.
