Review of District 9 (2009) by James I — 05 Apr 2013
Absolutely hundreds of film makers have attempted to depict extraterrestrial life the way they think or would want it would be like for Earth. Spielberg and Lucas both did fantastic jobs but Blomkamp took the road less traveled.
The originality in this film compares to no other motion picture with aliens because in this one, humans suppress the new comers. Heavy symbolism for Apartheid radiates throughout the film's plot as well.
The visuals are spectacular and the acting is superb. A sad, but contented, feeling remains upon the viewer after the ending.
