A remarkably open and well handled story of sex addiction. If the movie was released 15 or 20 years later, it would still have been well above average as far as psychiatry and movies go. The brief discussion of how alcoholism and other addictive behaviors are related to "the hole inside" was perhaps as well framed as any 20th century mass media handling of the subject.
